With Married to Medicine wrapping up its regular season run with a 2 hour finale on May 19th, Bravo PR issued this press release (printed in full below), correctly heralding the ratings records it attained.
Despite the finale dropping 16.27% below its full season average of 1,804,778 (1,077,056 aged 18-49 – Demo 0.86), that was, as the press release points out a 28% ratings jump on the prior week’s episode. That episode, which aired May 12th, was M2M’s lowest rated of their freshman season.

While the disclaimers somewhat reduce the impact of M2M’s ratings records; Bravo PR’s department explained that M2M became the highest-rated non-franchise/non-spin-off freshman series since “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy”, it’s is probably worth pointing out that this was as much due to deft scheduling than the quality of this particular show.
Married to Medicine had the huge advantage of having Bravo TV’s highest rated TV show, The Real Housewives of Atlanta for the first six of its episodes and those six averaged 1,994,500 viewers but that dropped by 28.54% to just 1,425,333 for the three episodes which didn’t.
And that’s proof positive of the tremendous boos that M2M received by dent of its schedule placement. When they come back for their second season, it will be interesting to see if they are again given the post RHoA time slot, or whether in their sophomore they’ll have to stand and survive on their own.
