After a first season that really caught the New York media’s awareness, Bravo realized that that not only was the audience growing for the RH franchise but that the disproportionate media coverage in relation to their relatively small audience was great advertising for their network and thus not only was a 2nd season of Real Housewives of New York City commissioned but casting began for a Real Housewives of New Jersey edition as well as one further south in Atlanta.
In the second season, each of the initial five housewives were retained and Kelly Killoren Bensimon, ex-wife of French fashion photographer and the former International Creative Director of Elle magazine, to give the show some added pizzazz.
