News & Projections for Week June 17 – June 21, 2012

Cast of ‘Miss Advised’ debuting Monday

With one show ‘DBTFTW‘ finishing last week and departing the Bravo first run schedules, that hour of original content is replaced by ‘Miss Advised’ which takes over the Monday 10pm time slot. The last show that debuted in that hour was ‘Love Broker’, which covers similar matchmaking territory to ‘Miss Advised’ and ‘Love Broker’ only lasted two episodes back in March and was pulled after failing in its short run and not climbing higher than a lowly 0.2 in the 18-49 demo.

‘Love Broker’ which will return during the slow summer months was replaced by ‘Bethenny Ever After‘ which was moved from 9pm (where it had been struggling against NBC’s ‘The Voice’) to the 10pm slot.

Whereas ‘Love Broker’ failed despite ‘Bethenny’s‘ lead-in, the gals from ‘Miss Advised’; Julia Allison, Amy Laurent and Emily Morse might be hoping that they can succeed in spite of their lead-in; ‘Real Housewives of New York City‘ which after 2 episodes is running some 24% lower in ratings against its much maligned 4th season at the same stage.

Elsewhere the Thursday spot that ‘Tardy‘ held down (and which helped prop up ‘Kathy‘) will be filled this week with a compilation hour of the top moments from the reunions of various ‘Real Housewives‘ iterations.

With ‘Kathy‘ not doing very well in drawing decent audience numbers you may have seen that Bravo and her production company ‘Embassy Row’ have convinced her to change tack and now have celebrity guests hence the press release they issued last week.

In last week’s projections Bravo Ratings estimated that ‘Pregnant in Heels‘ would benefit from it’s ‘RHOC‘ lead-in but as Pregnant dropped to be the lowest rated Bravo show last week, we’re guessing that the premiere of MTV’s ‘Teen Mom’ stole a lot of the audience into moms-to-be.

The other big news of the week is the return of Andy Cohen to his hosting chair in his tiny yet intimate SoHo clubhouse. Tonight he kicks of his 7th season with headline guests Teresa Giudice & her prison bound (?) husband Joe. In his 91 episode 6th season, 19 shows managed to break 1,000,000 audience levels and as can be seen from this link almost all of those occurred when he either had a Housewife on his show or when he followed an airing of and was discussing & dissecting a ‘Real Housewives‘. Teresa didn’t make an appearance during Season 6, and Caroline, Melissa, Kathy & Jacqueline filled 4 of the top five ratings for Andy and it’s easy to predict that Teresa will probably beat their ratings tonight and probably take the top spot in Season 7.

With the 3rd episode of RHoNY airing this week all eyes will be on its ratings as unlike in previous weeks it only gets one airing at 9pm. Last week we predicted that over its 3 Monday airings it would draw 1.3m, 1m & 600k respectively and it actually pulled 1.433m for the 9pm slot but only 800k at 10pm and 566k at 11pm for a Tuesday cumulative of 2.8m over 3 hours and so, only 100k short of our predictions.

Hopefully for Bravo’s sake Monday’s rating will improve. The viewing audience has now had two weeks on new wives’ exposition and are itching for some drama but will they stay interested enough to wait for it. We’ll see. But anything less than 1.6m will be an indication that things are not alright in the Big Apple.

Million Dollar Listing – LA‘ may well break 1m for the first time this season, ‘RHoNJ‘ should hold between 2.3 – 2.5m, and ‘RHOC‘ as it commences its 2 part finale could pull back to the 2m mark.

Pregnant‘ should recover from its precipitous drop last week, ’80 Plates’ seems to have settled in at 700k, a disappointing result for Bravo and its food advertisers, and ‘Kathy’ will probably continue to struggle. We predict all 3 shows will average between 650 – 750k this week.

Check back in next Saturday to see how we fared and make sure you explore the site. We’re slowly adding more and more ratings history but if there’s anything you’d particularly like to see make sure you mention it in the comments.

To Bravo Producers, i feel like the direction of where the HW Shows is hitting an all-time low. I really use to enjoy watching these shows and the women were fun to watch. Now, not so much!!! It just seems like each show is filled with so much anger and high school behavior, Tamra Barney is an excellent example. I can not stomach watching her any longer. I wish that there would be new cast members to replace these women who portray us women in such a demeaning, immature, jealous, petty, low class, mean-spirited way. I like the new ladies in NYC. Thats who i want to watch…women who are moms, that run business’, run their household, who are intellegent, loving, care about friendships and can have some drama without degrading someone. This was how the shows started off and over the years have turned dark and ugly. COME ON BRAVO, bring class back to ur network…replace the bad apples with some ladies like Carole R., Lisa Vanderpump, Heather Thomas, Aviva, Alexis B. These are great representation of women who have it all and that us (not as fortunate ladies) would like to watch. Well, thank you for listening and i hope you consider my comment.
