In April 2013 Bravo Media announced their 2013 slate of new and renewed programming and we’re afraid that Love Broker wasn’t on it. To see the other nine shows that also missed out on renewal and their ratings which acts as a guide to the audience size that a show needs to succeed on Bravo TV click here.
Full Season Summary
‘Love Broker’ starring New York City matchmaker Lori Zaslow, debuted in March with little advertising push by Bravo and it was hoped that by following the 3rd season episodes of ‘Bethenny Ever After‘ would be sufficient to bring in an audience. And if you watched the first 2 episodes you could see certain similarities between Lori & Bethenny. Unfortunately this period in early March coincided with NBC’s ‘The Voice’ scoring some of its best ratings and while viewers who wanted to watch both chose to DVR Bethenny, that meant they weren’t watching live to catch Lori’s show at 10pm. After two weeks of earning a miserable 0.20 in the 18-49 demo, Bravo execs pulled the show from their schedule and it came back in the Tuesday 10pm time slot on July 24th and its first episode (the 3rd of the season) in this time slot followed RHoC’s Lost Footage Episode. The OC lead-in of 1,420,000 viewers translated to a season high for Love Broker as 523,000 stuck around at 10pm to watch and it scored it’s highest ratings of its one and only season.
UPDATE 13-Aug-2012
The 5th episode of Love Broker aired at 10pm on Tuesday, August 7th and dropped a further 12,000 viewers versus the previous week’s episode to a dismal audience total of 287,000 with just 0.10 18-49 demo. Although the Bravo Love Broker page still shows an episode 6 airing tomorrow night, August 14th, a quick check of their schedule for Tuesday 8/14 shows that at 10pm a RHoNJ repeat will air instead.
After RHOC was over at 10/9c, Love Broker which aired episodes 1 & 2 back in March, when it had Bethenny Ever After as a lead-in, finally debuted its 3rd episode. And with 134 days between episodes, we think that’s a new record for Bravo. Bravo programming execs pulled it from the air, as its first 2 episodes rated poorly, in the mid 400k’s with just 0.20 demo figures, and last night it sort of, improved on that. 523,000 watched episode 3 and it scored 0.30 in the 18-49 demo. However, when it followed BGM it had a much smaller lead-in than even the RHOC Lost Footage episode provided but it managed to hold on to 45% of BEA’s audience. Although it rated better in total viewers last night, it only retained 36% if its RHOC lead-in and I’ve already heard rumors from inside Bravo that it might get pulled from the schedules yet again and this time for good. Honestly, it doesn’t seem like a bad show, but perhaps the audience are treating it as stale left-overs and turning up their nose. I’m sure Bravo will give it another week but with only a RHoNJ repeat as its 9pm lead-in next week, it now has to stand on it’s own to feet and show that Love Broker isn’t broken.
