With Sunday’s ratings not being released until tomorrow, Tuesday, on Monday’s we turn our attention to projections for the week ahead. This is a big week for Bravo and its ratings and at Bravo Ratings, we’ll have a better handle on the scheduling fate of two shows sometime late Tuesday afternoon. ‘Miss Advised‘ debuted last week to lackluster reviews and ratings, and with ‘RHoNY‘ falling again last week to be down 22% after three episodes when compared with the same stage in both Season 3 & Season 4, Monday’s ratings might well determine if that night’s schedule is shaken up in the coming weeks. Last week only two out of five episodes of Andy Cohen’s talkie scored in the nightly Top 100 Cable ratings; Sunday with Teresa Giudice and Tuesday with Gretchen Rossi, which meant that Monday’s episode with Ramona Singer didn’t score. This is largely due to the fact that not enough people who watched ‘Miss Advised’ at 10pm stayed around to see Ramona, and that ‘RHoNY’ fans failed to switch back at 11pm.
In what will no doubt be the highest rated episode of WWHL for the week, last night, in a deft piece of casting, Carole Radziwill joined Jacqueline Laurita in Andy’s clubhouse. This gave the post RHoNJ audience who stuck around, a look at one of the three new RHoNY in the hopes that the 1.25m who watched RHoNJ but not RHoNY last week, might view tonight’s 4th episode of RHoNY.
If ‘Miss Advised’ doesn’t show any signs of ratings improvement tonight, then I think that we’ll see it switch time slots with RHoNY, as by running at 10pm it’s hurting the audience for the episode of WWHL which follows. Tonight Andy hosts the other two new RHoNY ‘wives; Aviva Drescher and Heather Thomson, and it will be interesting to see if they can get Andy’s show on the ratings scoreboard this week, where Ramona failed last week.
With there not being any original programming running in the 9pm Thursday slot this week and with ‘Kathy wrapping up next week (July 5th), it’s also possible that instead of moving RHoNY to the 10pm Monday time slot, that it could return to Thursday’s at 10pm. Last week in the New York Daily News a Bravo spokesperson was quoted saying “We’re very happy with the performance of the first two episodes especially given its new time slot and the current competitive period with over 200 original shows launched in June alone. We love both existing and new cast members.” That alludes to the competitive scheduling they believe the show faces on Monday nights although it must be said VH1 is doing very well at the 9pm slot with its semi scripted show ‘Single Ladies 2′ scoring 1.8m viewers and 1.0 in the 18-49 demo versus last week’s RHoNY episode getting 1.4m and 0.60 demo
The ratings for RHOC should build on last week’s as the 2nd part of the finale airs Tuesday, but I doubt they will get to the heights of the season 6 finale when 2.875m watched the wine throwing incident between Jeana Keough & Tamra Barney. Despite that high this the 7th season is trending 1% up versus last and so it’s safe to assume that RHOC will be back for a record 8th season.
Pregnant gained back some viewers last week, as did 80 Plates and MDL-LA dropped a little and we don’t expect to see any major variances this week. Despite its celebrity reboot Kathy hit records lows last week with Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin will be hoping among hope that Sharon Osbourne & Jane Fonda can give her ratings the lift it badly needs. This week it only has a repeat showing of RHOC’s finale as a lead-in and so it won’t get much bump from that.
Andy Cohen’s best guests of the week will be Thursday when he’s joined by Kylie Minogue & Katie Couric and it will be interesting to see how that episode does ratings wise, as with that line up it might make people who aren’t already watching Kathy’s show to turn over to Bravo at 11pm.
