Bravo Confirms RHoNY Ratings Nerves – Reschedules RHoC Reunion Part 2

Yesterday, Bravo execs finally admitted in a public forum their evident concern with the poor performance of the 5th season of the Real Housewives of New York City. After 6 weeks of mediocre RHoNY ratings, culminating in Monday’s new season low of less than 1.3m, Bravo hastily rejigged its following week’s schedule and decided to air the 2nd part of the 7th season Reunion of the Real Housewives of Orange County on Monday, July 16th at 8/7c. And it was Bravo’s Exec VP, Andy Cohen who made the announcement via his Twitter feed last night at 10.01pm EDT.

By the time Andy tweeted, Bravo had already updated their own website, but the myriad of TV listings on the cable and satellite provider’s websites plus Zap2it, were still showing that a repeat episode of the Real Housewives of New Jersey was scheduled, although they are starting to be updated this morning.

Bravo Schedule for July 16
as at July 10th, 2012

Despite RHoC being the grand old dame of the Real Housewives franchise, RHoNY has rated better with higher total audience levels in both 2010 & 2011 (see below table), and so it must be somewhat galling for the NY producers and cast to need lead-in assistance from a franchise that it used to better. In any event, at Bravo Ratings, we’re certainly hoping that this scheduling change will give NY the boost for its 7th episode that it so badly needs.
