Just one night after RHoNJ’s ratings grew week on week by 749,000 or 33.57% RHoNY stayed basically flat growing just 2,000 versus the prior episode of 1,651,000, a growth of only 0.12%. With this week’s viewership of 1,653,000 and a demo of 0.70 in the 18-49 year age group RHoNY is now averaging after 12 episodes 1,485,500 (18-49 Demo 0.63) versus Season 4′s average through 12 episodes of 2,003,333 (18-49 Demo 0.93).

That means, as we approach two thirds of the way through this 5th season, the season-on-season audience drop is now in negative territory by 25.85% in total viewers and 33.04% in the only viewers that the advertisers care about, those aged between 18 years and 49 years. Bravo Executives (and their Comcast bosses) must be desperately hoping that the upcoming St Barths episodes provide sufficient behavior declassé from Countess Luann and others, to finally boost ratings of this flagging season.

No figures yet for Gallery Girls, although we should have them by around 8pm Eastern. For their premiere last week, GG retained just 33.3% of RHoNY’s lead-in and we’d expect that that will fall this week.

Gallery Girl Update. Gallery Girls for its second episode posted identical ratings to its premiere last week, with 550,000 viewers tuning in and scoring another 0.30 in the 18-49 demo. It’s certainly good news that their ratings didn’t drop from last week but they didn’t climb either retaining just 33.27% of the RHoNY’s lead-in. An art blog queried why we’d made a ratings comparison to Miss Advised in our initial post as one was about three single sex columnists/radio hosts/advisers and this is about the NY art world. The comparison is only valid in as much as both shows aired on Monday nights and had RHoNY as a lead-in. After 2 episodes Miss Advised was averaging 586,500 (with a smaller lead-in from RHoNY) whereas GG is of course averaging 550,000.

Gallery Girls is actually really good. It reminds me of The Hills except less annoying and more authentic. If Bravo advertised it better they could get better numbers.
