Last night the RHoNY ‘wives may have physically returned from St Barths but emotionally they were very much still there as the fallout from the trip continued back in NYC. After three episodes spent in the Caribbean, none of which gained the magic audience total of 2m, it was unlikely that their return would reach that high, and so it proved, but only just as 1,989,000 tuned in for the 16th regular episode of this 5th season. This episode was the fourth consecutive week where RHoNy scored a 0.80 in the 18-49 demo. That total audience figure is a new season high but still short of the magical 2m mark.
Last season’s 16th episode was that season’s finale, which garnered that season’s cast their season high ratings of 2,449,000 viewers with a 1.10 in the 18-49 demo. And now after 16 episodes the season-to-date average is trending down by -22.21% overall and -28.19% in the 18-49 demo versus Season 4.
Gallery Girls at 10/9c didn’t score a placement in the nightly Top 100 Cable TV shows and so we’ll need to do some further digging and will report back later on their ratings.
UPDATE Monday’s Gallery Girls improved by 1,000 over last week to reach a audience of 632,000, but dropped from last week’s 0.40 18-49 demo rating to 0.30. That 0.10 drop in the demo is a reduction of some 97,000 viewers aged between 18-49, which given the demographics of the cast of this show is surprising, to say the least. Season-to-date GG is averaging 590,500 viewers with 0.32 in the 18-49 demo which probably isn’t high enough for a second season to be commissioned. Anything less than 0.40 in the demo is probably doomed.
And finally at 11pm the first WWHL Monday night mash up, featuring a blonde wearing a white dress from each of the two prior shows, aired to pretty respectable audience of 875,000 viewers and 0.30 in the 18-49 demo. And that’s close to a 100,000 increase over Heather Thomson’s appearance last week although she had a better 18-49 demo rating of 0.40. Checking back on our WWHL ratings’ database, you have to go back to February 6th, 2012 to find a higher rated Monday episode of WWHL (Sarah Michelle Gellar & Ryan Murphy with 909,000 viewers).
