The sixth of the Real Housewives’ franchises saw a return to the West Coast where the original, Orange County, was spawned back in 2006. After several years of marketing these shows as containing very wealthy women Bravo finally lived up to their billing, with the casting of this series. Evolution Media were given the task of producing Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and this was the first time that one production company produced two RH franchises. Evolution Media are also the producers of the Orange County franchise.
As was to be expected with this location, the cast contained both former child actresses as well as the wife (or soon to be ex-wife) of a very well known TV actor. Add in the British ex-pats, the Vanderpumps, some casino money as well as the requisite wannabees in Taylor & Russel Armstrong, and the stage was set for an explosive first season.
After a bit of a slow start – the first 3 episodes only rated between 1.2m & 1.5m, the cast soon caught their groove and they ended their freshman season with the 13 regular episodes averaging just over 1.9m and and both reunion episodes rating around 2.6m.
This first season featured sisters Kyle Richards & Kim Richards, Lisa Vanderpump, Camille Grammer, Adrienne Maloof and Taylor Armstrong and was produced by Evolution Media for Bravo with Douglas Ross, Greg Stewart, Kathleen French, Dave Rupel and Alex Baskin as executive producers and Toni Gallagher as co-executive producers.
