The 3rd season premiere of RHoBH perhaps had the misfortune of airing just 24 hours after the record smashing premiere of RHoA and only managed to pull a relatively small audience of 1,809,000 viewers, with 0.90 in the 18-49 demographic. That was 374,000 short of its prior season’s premiere and Bravo Media won’t be too pleased with that so don’t look for a press release from Bravo PR coming anytime soon. Season two’s premiere may have been inflated by the intrigue about their second season which premiered not long after the unfortunate suicide of Russell Armstrong, but for this year’s to have fallen so short of last, will put a question over how this third season will perform in the ratings.

At 10pm, the first of two new shows debuting on Bravo TV this week aired. Start Ups;Silicon Valley’s premiere drew just 634,000 viewers with 400,000 viewers aged 18-49, which represents an 18-49 demo percentage of 0.30. The ratings benchmark for SUSV is probably Most Eligible Dallas which followed several episodes of RHoBH’s second season and it debuted with 784,000 thousand on August 15th, 2011 although at the time its lead-in show was Millionaire Matchmaker. ME Dallas’ fifth episode followed RHoBH’s second season premiere, and that drew a more healthy 951,000 (18-49 demo 0.50). With ratings in the low to mid 600k’s, this is not an auspicious start to their season and hopes will be that in following weeks the ratings can grow.

Kyle Richards and Jay Mohr joined Andy Cohen at 11pm for Watch What Happens Live and unfortunately as they followed SUSV, which didn’t light up a sufficiently large audience to act as a good lead-in, WWHL didn’t score a place in the Nightly Cable Top 100 TV Shows.

With no original programming airing on Bravo TV today (even Andy’s taking the night off to celebrate/commiserate on the election, we’ll be back Thursday, November 8th with ratings news on season 10 of Top Chef; Seattle and the debut of LOLWork both premiering on Wednesday, November 7th.

In the meantime, if you haven’t voted. DO!

  1. [...] show was watched by 634,000 people last week, 400,000 in the lucrative and self-absorbed 18-49 age [...]

Just like the recent presidential election, it’s the demographics. African-Americans generally do not watch the other HW franchises…but many watch RHOA. Perhaps if the other franchises looked more like America….
C’mon Bravo, mix it up! Andy Cohen knows LaToya Jackson is Lisa VanderPump’s best friend,is she on the RHOBH?

What do you get out of doing this? You don’t even have ads on your site. Just curious.
