Updated on Tuesday April 22nd after S07E18 – The Season Finale aired at the special time of 10pm on Sunday, April 20th

It’s been quite a fractured season for The Millionaire Matchmaker, with eighteen episodes, its longest running season of its seven. This season premiered on December 5th, 2013 airing at 9pm and was used as the lead-in provider to Courtney Loves Dallas. In February (and right around and either side of Valentine’s Day) Matchmaker took a three week hiatus and then returned to air in March just in time for it to act as the lead-in to another new Bravo TV show; Online Dating Rituals of the American Male. Ten episodes of Millionaire Matchmaker aired prior to its 3 week break averaging 1,113,300 viewers per episode (580,800 aged 18-49 – demo 0.47) but the seven since that have aired since its return have seen over 1/4 quarter of the prior audience not return, as its average per episode viewership dropped to 802,286 viewers (403,857 aged 18-49 – demo 0.31). With Matchmaker losing viewers Bravo TV execs moved Online Dating to the 10pm Tuesday spot (following the sixth season of The Real Housewives of New York City) and then moved Matchmaker from airing at 9pm to the earlier 8/7c time slot and repeated again at 9pm.

As this season’s finale episode featured Nene Leakes helping Patti Stanger match up two of Nene’s bridesmaids from I Dream of Nene; The Wedding, it was given a Sunday night prime tome slot on the same night that the first reunion episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta aired.

At 10pm Sunday 1,862,000 viewers tuned in (899,000 aged 18-49 – Demo 0.70) and that’s not only a season ratings high but a series one as well. Patti’s previously highest rated episode aired at 10pm on Tuesday, October 26th, 2010 when it garnered 1,852,000 viewers. That episode which also featured a Bravolebrity; Caroline Manzo setting up her two sons for dates, scored 1.0 in the 18-49 demo and so would have had a considerably larger audience that advertisers prefer than this Sunday’s episode which scored 0.70 in that demographic.

Sunday’s ratings have significantly boosted the season-to-date average but it wasn’t enough to push this season into positive ratings territory compared with the last several seasons. Through eighteen episodes Matchmaker averaged 1,033,944 total viewers of which 529,867 are aged 18 to 49 years. Total audience numbers represent a -5.34% decline versus Season 6, -4.19% when compared with Season 5 and a sizable -31.84% compared with 2010′s Season 4. The decline in the 18-49 demographic is larger still; ranging from -16.69% compared with last season and -19.83% when compared with Season Five and a massive -48.30% with Season Four.

Last week Bravo Media announced that Patti Stanger would be back for an eighth season of Matchmaker either later in 2014 or early 2015.

Full Season Summary

After taking 2012 off from Bravo TV’s airwaves Patti Stanger is back with her seventh season of Millionaire Matchmaker and the second to debut in 2013 (Season 6 premiered on January 10th, 2013. That season also debuted on a Thursday but only stayed in that slot for 3 weeks before being moved to air on Tuesdays, and that’s something that wouldn’t surprise me if it happens again this year.

Initially Matchmaker will be used to prop up and provide a lead-in audience to Courtney Kerr’s spin of from Most Eligible Dallas; Courtney Loves Dallas, which debuts on the same night, however if Courtney can’t hold on to a sufficiently high percentage of Matchmaker’s audience (70%+), then I would expect that Patti’s proven ratings pull will be given to Shahs of Sunset and moved to air at 9pm Tuesdays.

In addition to three new assistants; Justin Bird, David Cruz and Marisa Saks joining Stanger this season, she and they will attempt to match up three fellow Bravolebrities; the aforementioned Courtney Kerr, Rosie Pierri from The Real Housewives of New Jersey and Stefan Richter from Top Chef – Season 8 – All Stars). Other well known faces looking for love this season include Kim Kardashian’s friend Jonathan Cheban, Katrina Parker from The Voice, the late Patrick Swayze’s actor brother Don Swayze.

Intuitive Entertainment and Bayonne Entertainment, Inc. produce “The Millionaire Matchmaker” for Bravo Media. Mechelle Collins, Kevin Dill, Robert Lee, Tracy Mazuer and Patti Stanger serve as executive producers.

It’s been quite a fractured season for The Millionaire Matchmaker which with eighteen episodes will be its longest ever season. At 8pm last Thursday just 700,000 viewers tuned in; a 40,000 increase over the previous week and with just 323,000 of those aged between 18 and 49 years (demo 0.20) is set a new series low in that demographic. The 9pm repeat airing attracted a further 571,000/284,000/0.20.

Through seventeen episodes Matchmaker is averaging 985,235 total viewers of which 507,941 are aged 18 to 49 years. Total audience numbers represent a -9.80% decline versus Season 6, -8.70% when compared with Season 5 and a whopping -35.05% compared with 2010′s Season 4. The decline in the 18-49 demographic is larger still; ranging from -20.11% compared with last season and -22.93% when compared with Season Five and a massive -50.30% with Season Four.

As the finale contains women who acted as Nene Leakes bridesmaids in I Dream of Nene; The Wedding, it will air at 10pm Sunday April 20th – the same night as the first reunion episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta airs. At least that should guarantee that the season finale goes out with a larger audience. Earlier last week Bravo Media announced that Patti Stanger would be back for an eighth season of Matchmaker.

It’s been quite a fractured season for The Millionaire Matchmaker which with eighteen episodes will be its longest ever season and perhaps its last. Ten episodes of Millionaire Matchmaker aired prior to its 3 week break averaging 1,113,300 viewers per episode (580,800 aged 18-49 – demo 0.47) but the six that have aired since its return have seen over 1/4 quarter of the prior audience not return, as its average per episode viewership dropped to 819,333 viewers (417,333 aged 18-49 – demo 0.32). At 8pm last Thursday just 660,000 viewers tuned in, the fewest this season for a new episodes first airing and with just 351,000 of those aged between 18 and 49 years (demo 0.20); that’s another series low in that demographic. The 9pm repeat airing attracted a further 546,000/266,000/0.20.

Through sixteen episodes Matchmaker is averaging 1,003,063 total viewers of which 519,500 are aged 18 to 49 years. Total audience numbers represent a -8.17% decline versus Season 6, -5.26% when compared with Season 5 and a whopping -33.87% compared with 2010′s Season 4. The decline in the 18-49 demographic is larger still; ranging from -18.29% compared with last season and -20.89% when compared with Season Five and a massive -49.49% with Season Four.

This Thursday the penultimate episode of this season will air at 8pm (and then at 9pm Bravo will televise a movie from the NBCUniversal stable), and as the finale contains women who acted as Nene Leakes bridesmaids in I Dream of Nene; The Wedding, the season finale will air at 10pm Sunday April 20th – the same night as the first reunion episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta airs. At least that should guarantee that the season finale goes out with a larger audience but will it be enough to ensure an eighth season of Matchmaker?

Totaling eighteen episodes this will be the longest ever season of The Millionaire Matchmaker but sadly it’s also looking like it might be its last. This season has seen viewership nosedive, culminating in last Thursday’s episode falling below 800,000 viewers for the first time this season and third time in its seven year history. At 9pm Thursday just 784,000 viewers tuned in, the fewest this season and with just 376,000 of those aged between 18 and 49 years; that’s a another series low in that demographic. The last three episodes have all only scored 0.30 in the 18-49 demographic, a low never previously recorded in its six previous seasons.

With the last five episodes all rating well below even this season’s low average viewership, the season to date average of Millionaire Matchmaker is increasing its ratings deficit against all its prior six seasons.

Through fifteen episodes Matchmaker is averaging 1,025,933 total viewers of which 530,733 are aged 18 to 49 years. Total audience numbers represent a -6.08% decline versus Season 6, -3.10% when compared with Season 5 and a whopping -32.36% compared with 2010′s Season 4. The decline in the 18-49 demographic is larger still; ranging from -17.21% compared with last season and -18.17% when compared with Season Five and a massive -47.76% with Season Four.

Updated on Friday March 21st after S07E14 aired at 9pm on Thursday, March 20th 2014.

Another Thursday and another low ratings return for The Millionaire Matchmaker which in its seventh season is increasingly showing signs of a tired format. At 9pm just 831,000 viewers tuned in, the fewest this season and with just 383,000 of those aged between 18 and 49 years; that’s a series low in that demographic.

With five of the last six episodes ratings in the 800k’s, the season to date average of Millionaire Matchmaker is now showing ratings declines against all its prior six seasons.

Through fourteen episodes Matchmaker is averaging 1,043,214 total viewers of which 541,786 are aged 18 to 49 years. Total audience numbers represent a -4.49% decline versus Season 6, -1.47% when compared with Season 5 and a whopping -31.22% compared with 2010′s Season 4. The decline in the 18-49 demographic is larger still; ranging from -14.78% compared with last season and -16.44% when compared with Season Five and a massive -46.65% with Season Four.

It’s appearing more and more that Patti Stanger’s format is getting tired with another mediocre ratings return this week. Last nights’s episode at 9pm could only muster 875,000 viewers at 9pm of which 443,000 were aged 18-49 years – Demo 0.30.

With four of the last five episode’s ratings in the 800k’s, the season to date average of Millionaire Matchmaker grew its ratings declines compared with Seasons 6 at the same stage in overall viewer averages and is recording large ratings declines in the 18-49 demographic when compared with all of the last three last seasons.

Through thirteen episodes Matchmaker is averaging 1,059,538 total viewers of which 554,000 are aged 18 to 49 years. Total audience numbers represent a -3.00% decline versus Season 6 but remains just in positive territory of +3.76% when compared with Season 5. However the gap in the 18-49 demographic shows declines ranging from -12.86% compared with last season and -12.12% when compared with Season Five. Compared with Season Four however the drop in the 18-49 viewers has grown to a massive -45.37%.

Updated on Wednesday March 12th after S07E12 aired at 9pm on Thursday, March 6th

For some reason Patti Stanger solo Bravo TV vehicle, took a two week break either side of Valentines Day (not sure why or whether it was Winter Olympics related) but since it’s returned it seems that the show’s viewers took an even longer break. Last Thursday’s episode at 9pm could only muster 894,000 viewers at 9pm of which 473,000 were aged 18-49 years – Demo 0.40.

Both ratings figures had a negative impact on the season to date average and Millionaire Matchmaker is now showing ratings declines compared with Seasons 6 at the same stage in overall viewer averages and is recording large ratings declines in the 18-49 demographic when compared with all of the last three last seasons.

Through twelve episodes Matchmaker is averaging 1,074,917 total viewers of which 563,250 are aged 18 to 49 years. Total audience numbers represent a -2.90% decline versus Season 6 but remains in positive territory of +7.04% when compared with Season 5. However the gap in the 18-49 demographic shows declines ranging from -12.07% compared with last season and -8.33% when compared with Season Five. Compared with Season Four however the drop in the 18-49 viewers has grown to a massive -43.88%.

Updated on Friday January 31st after S07E09 aired at 9pm on Thursday, January 30th

Episode nine saw Patti Stanger‘s latest audience record a surprising slump in viewership this week, as this latest episode shed some 279,000 viewers (-23.70%) from the previous week’s 1,177,000 viewers as just 898,000 tuned in at 9pm last night. While the 18 to 49 year viewer total didn’t fall in percentage terms as precipitously, this episode was the first to drop below the 1/2 million mark with just 484,000 in that age group down from tthe prior week’s 594,000.

Both ratings figures had a negative impact on the season to date average but Millionaire Matchmaker is still showing positive ratings growth against both Seasons 6 & 5 at the same stage in overall viewer averages but also still posting deficits in the 18-49 demographic when compared with all of the last three last seasons.

Through nine episodes Matchmaker is posting ratings increases in its total viewer count (+2.68% versus Season 6 and +11.17% versus Season 5) but the gap in the 18-49 demo shows declines ranging from -5.81% compared with last season and -4.44% when compared with Season Five. Compared with Season Four however the drop in the 18-49 viewers is approaching 2/5ths; at -39.44%.

Updated on Friday January 24th after S07E08 aired at 9pm on Thursday, January 23rd

Episode eight saw Patti Stanger gain 174,000 viewers (17.35%) from the previous week’s second lowest season audience of just 1,003,000, with 1,177,000 viewers tuning in at 9pm last night. However, the 18 to 49 year viewer total barely budged from the prior week’s 588,000 to this week’s 594,000. Not surprisingly the overall audience was slightly above the season to date average while the 18-49 demo figure was below it. Millionaire Matchmaker is still showing positive ratings growth against both Seasons 6 & 5 at the same stage in overall viewer averages but is still posting deficits in the 18-49 demographic when compared with all of the last three last seasons.

Through eight episodes Matchmaker is posting ratings increases in its total viewer count (+7.85% versus Season 6 and +11.59% versus Season 5) but the gap in the 18-49 demo still shows declines ranging from -1.65% compared with last season and -4.88% when compared with Season Five. Compared with Season Four however the drop in the 18-49 viewers is over one third, at -37.10%.

Updated on Wednesday January 22nd after S07E07 aired at 9pm on Thursday, January 16th Bookmark this page and check back regularly for updates.

Episode Seven saw Patti Stanger shed 388,000 viewers (-27.89%) from the previous week’s season high audience of 1,391,000, as just 1,003,000 viewers tuned in at 9pm last Thursday. The 18 to 49 year viewer total also dropped; from the prior week’s 708,000 to 588,000. Both numbers were below the average for this seventh season but despite that Millionaire Matchmaker is still showing positive ratings growth against both Seasons 6 & 5 at the same stage in overall viewer averages but is down in the 18-49 demographic with all of the last three last season.

Through seven episodes Matchmaker is seeing single digit ratings increases in its total viewer count (+8.59% versus Season 6 and +8.30% versus Season 5) but the gap in the 18-49 demo still is seeing declines ranging from -0.49% compared with last season and -8.11% when compared with Season Five. Compared with Season Four however the drop in the 18-49 viewers is over one third, at -37.04%.

Updated on Friday January 10th after S07E06 aired at 9pm on Thursday, January 9th

Episode Six saw Patti Stanger post another season high, as 1,391,000 viewers tuned in at 9pm this week; 46,000 more than last week’s episode which featured Rosie Pierri. The 18 to 49 year viewer total dipped slightly from last week’s 747,000 to this week’s 708,000, but both were above average for this season and Millionaire Matchmaker is showing positive ratings growth against both Seasons 6 & 5 at the same stage in overall viewer averages and is now almost dead level in the 18-49 demographic with last season too.

Through six episodes Matchmaker is seeing double digit ratings increases in its total viewer count (+11.49% versus Season 6 and +11.56% versus Season 5) and has now significantly closed the gap in the 18-49 demo; with the younger demo declines raging from -0.49% compared with last season and -6.45% when compared with Season Five.

Updated on Sunday January 5th after S07E05 aired at 9pm on Thursday, January 2nd

After 5 episodes, Patti Stanger’s seventh season of Millionaire Matchmaker is now showing ratings growth against both Seasons 6 & 5 at the same stage in overall viewer averages. Last Thursday’s episode set a season high with 1,345,000 viewers of which 747,000 were aged 18 to 49 years; the first time this season the demo rating has been 0.60.

Through five episodes Matchmaker is seeing single digit ratings increases in its total viewer count (2.77% versus Season 6 and 2.62% versus Season 5) but is still in deficit in the 18-49 demo; with the younger demo declines ranging from -9.98% compared with last season to a massive -42.50% when compared with Season Four.

Updated on Tuesday December 24th after S07E03 aired at 9pm on Thursday, December 18th

Each week of Patti Stanger’s seventh season of Millionaire Matchmaker has witnessed ratings growth, with last Thursday’s episode attracting 1,105,000 viewers of which 586,000 were aged 18 to 49 years; the first time this season the demo ratings has been 0.50.

Through three episodes Matchmaker is still seeing double digit ratings deficits, both in its total viewer count as well as the 18-49 demo, against each of its prior three seasons, with the younger demo declines raging from -21.43% compared with last season up to -48.00% when compared with Season Four.

That seems to indicate that after seven years younger viewers are turning away from Matchmaker, something we guess that Patti’s three new assistants were brought in to stem, but so far it would appear they’re not having much luck.

Updated on Friday December 12th after S07E02 aired at 9pm on Thursday, December 11th.

Last Friday when the ratings were released for Patti Stanger’s seventh season premiere of Millionaire Matchmaker she pointed out on Twitter that one of the reasons for the disappointing debut ratings of just 871,000 viewers was that NBC’s The Sound Of Music had aired at the same time, garnering 18.6m viewers. So last night Stanger presumably expected an increase in her own viewership, which she got as 1,086,000 (530,000 aged 18-49 – Demo 0.40) tuned in. On the face of it that’s an impressive 25% increase over last week’s total however of this week’s 215,000 extra viewers only 11,000 of them were aged between 18 & 49 years and that’s not something that is particularly going to excite Bravo Media or its prime time advertisers.

Through two episodes Matchmaker is seeing double digit ratings deficits, both in its total viewer count as well as the 18-49 demo, against each of its prior three seasons, with the younger demo declines raging from -26.85% compared with last season up to -52.94% when compared with Season Four.

That seems to indicate that after seven years younger viewers are turning away from Matchmaker, something we guess that Patti’s three new assistants were brought in to stem, but so far it would appear they’re not having much luck.

Updated on Friday December 5th after S07E01 aired at 9pm on Thursday, December 4th

With Bravo Media not having aired original programming on Thursday nights for the last 5 months, it is not overly surprising that the seventh season premiere of Millionaire Matchmaker debuted to its smallest audience since Season Two premiered in February 2009. Last night at 9pm 871,000 viewers (519,000 aged 18-49 – Demo 0.40) tuned in and that’s just 62% of the 1.4m who watched the Season Six premiere in January of this year, which also aired on a Thursday.
