Bravo Media Are
Passionate About Their
New & Returning Shows

With the TV Upfronts season in full swing, Bravo Media have after their Press Breakfast Briefing this morning, announced the new & returning shows for the coming year. Of note is the the first official confirmation that both the poorly rated (in Real Housewives terms anyway) Real Housewives of New York & The Real Housewives of Miami are returning for their sixth & third seasons respectively and as expected there is no third season for Kathy Griffin’s talk show Kathy. One renewal we predicted was the confirmation of a full season order for Fashion Queens, after its original limited three season averaged just under 1m viewers in the 11:30pm Sunday time-slot. Wednesday night saw the finale of the fourth season of Top Chef Masters wrapping up its lowest rated season of the four seasons that this Top Chef spin off has aired. Each successive season has rated lower than the previous one, showing either a malaise with the format or the strength of competing shows on other networks. The finale episode was viewed by 1,018,000 and scored a 18-49 demo rating percentage of 0.50. With a growth in viewers over the previous week’s 9th episode of some 27%, on the face of it, that’s seems a pretty decent result. As always the devil is in the details. Read more

Each week we look back at how Bravo’s first run shows performed in their ratings against our projections posted each Sunday at Bravo Ratings. This week there were a couple of surprises and anomalies. We expected that RHoNJ would drop from its prior week and forecasted between 2.8-3.0m viewers and was a little surprised that it didn’t make even the bottom of our range, but where we were really out on our forecasting was that night’s WWHL. With Jacqueline Laurita appearing we hadn’t expected her to pull a large audience but we certainly underestimated the pull of Long Island Medium Theresa Caputo ,as combined helped WWHL pull an audience 105,000 better than the prior week’s episode with Teresa Giudice & Perez Hilton. With 1,863,000 viewers this was significantly ahead of our range of 1.5-1.7m. Read more
