Bravo Upfronts – Which Bravo TV Shows from 2012 Won’t Be Returning

Cancelled By Bravo

Yesterday Bravo Media announced an impressive and LONG list of returning shows as well as new pickups and new shows going into development.

Much pertinent information can often be gleaned from what is not said in the Bravo Upfronts press release and this includes which television shows weren’t mentioned as getting a new season. The list below details those that aired in 2012, with links to their episodic ratings, which presumably weren’t renewed for the coming season. A quick look at these ratings (all via Nielsen Media and are Live + Same Day) pretty much explains why each respective show hasn’t gotten another season. Read more

So tonight’s the night! Or rather tonight we see what happened back on November 11th 2011, better written as 11-11-11. The question we have at Bravo Ratings is just how many ratings Number 1′s can Kim Zolciak score tonight with her finale?

The third and final season of Bethenny’s solo reality show was the longest of the three seasons with 15 regular episodes versus 9 in Bethenny Getting Married? and 11 in the 2nd season. This season the most controversial happening was a boat mishap that aired in the 5th episode, and other story lines centered around the new apartment renovation storyline , the departure of Bethenny’s long serving ‘Co-ordinator of Chaos’ and expansion of the Beam owned Skinnygirl brand, didn’t attract an audience in the same numbers as season 2. Overall this 3rd season was down 23% against Season 2 (and 33% in the demo) and against the freshman season was down 39% & 40% respectively.

After an impressive ratings debut in her first season, averaging just under 1.8m viewers for its first showing with 0.84 in the ad buyer’s demo (ages 18-49), a second season of Bethenny Frankel’s solo reality vehicle was always going to struggle against first season expectations. Given that the first season contained not only a wedding BUT a birth as well, the major life change this season was Bethenny’s 40th Birthday and therefore it wasn’t too surprising when ratings declined. The debut episode of the 2nd season at 1,500,000 and 18-49 demo of 0.80 ended up being just higher than the end of season average of 1,454,909 and 0.76. Overall ratings for the the second season were down 19% and 9.50% respectively from its freshman season.

When Bravo signed Bethenny Frankel to her own show little did they guess how quickly Bethenny’s story line and thus the show’s initial premise would change. Initially, when the rumors first surfaced the working title was reportedly ‘Skinny in The City” and then along came a night at Tenjune, Jason Hoppy and pregnancy and thus Bethenny Getting Married? was born. When the premier episode aired it became Bravo’s then highest rated series premiere in Bravo History.
