Kroy & Kim – Bravo’s #1 Show this week

There were no new shows premiering this week but whereas as last week Bravo celebrated two premieres, this week Bravo threw us two weddings. The first a Marriage Equality wedding on ‘The Real Housewives of New Jersey‘ kicked off the week on Sunday and the other to wrap up the week on Thursday, was Kim Zolciak’s record rating nuptials on the finale of ‘Don’t Be Tardy for the Party‘. Andy Cohen’s talk show ‘What Watch Happens Live’ remained for a further week of hiatus as Andy, in addition to wrapping up his book tour, launched his new radio career on Sirius and then dropped $40,000 to hobnob with President Obama at Sarah Jessica Parker’s townhouse.

Tardy‘ knocked ‘RHoNJ‘ from the top spot to take this week’s honors, ‘RHoOC‘ also got knocked down a place this time taking the #3 spot. ‘RHoNY‘ lost Read more

Billed by Kathy Griffin, herself, as a show that would not feature celebrity guests, she, Bravo & her production company, Embassy Row (who also produce Andy Cohen’s ‘Watch What Happens Live’), set themselves up either to break that promise or wish it was one they never made. After debuting at just under 1 million viewers in its first episode on April 19th ratings declined by over 25% in its second week despite now having a strong lead in with the debut of Kim Zolciak’s wedding spinoff ‘Don’t Be Tardy for the Wedding’. By week three, the well known band Wilson Phillips joined Kathy as her guests and if they don’t qualify as ‘celebrities’ then their parents certainly do. Its strongest lead in to date occurred May 31st, 2012 when Tardy drew more than 2m viewers at 9.30pm, but despite that and a scene in Kathy regarding Kim Zolciak’s wig removal, ratings stubbornly stayed below 800,000 as is its average after 7 episodes of its freshman season and by the time it wrapped they had dropped to just 721,000 as its finale with Jimmy Kimmel couldn’t even attract 500,000 viewers. Don’t Be Tardy for the Wedding – Season 1 Ratings

The third spinoff from The Real Housewives’ franchise, following Jo De La Rosa & Slade Smiley’s ‘Date My Ex’ and then of course, the highly successful 3 seasons of Bethenny’s solo show, ‘Don’t Be Tardy for the Wedding’, resolves around the wedding plans of ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ Kim Zolziak to Atlanta Falcon’s Kroy Biermann. Smartly packaged in short 30 minute episodes, the wig raising 7th episode smashed through the 2 million viewer mark, which will no doubt be breached again for the wedding next week. Look for a press release from Bravo heralding that rating’s success soon. UPDATED Here’s Bravo’s press release WIG-TASTIC! BRAVO MEDIA’S “DON’T BE TARDY FOR THE WEDDING” DELIVERS HIGHEST RATED EPISODE OF THE SEASON UP 71 PERCENT AMONG ADULTS 18-49, AND EARNS OVER 2 MILLION TOTAL VIEWERS
