Like a shopping mall needs an anchor tenant, so a TV network needs a massive hit show, or a tent pole as its known in the business; a show that props of the rest of that particular night’s programming. For Bravo Media The Real Housewives of Atlanta admirably and incredibly successfully performs that role.

In the six hours of television aired on Bravo TV between 7pm & 1am Sunday night, November 18th, four hours were dedicated to RHoA programming; one hour to last week’s S06E02 and three to this week’s third episode of this sixth season. A massive 7.3m viewers tuned into those four hours RHoA with the only hour of new programming amassing over half of that, 3,697,000 viewers at the 8pm hour.

At 9pm Thicker Than Water managed to increase its RHoA retention percentage from last week’s 46.84% to this week’s 49.93%, as it had 1,837,000 viewers at 9pm, a figure almost matched by the 10pm RHoA repeat with 1,712,000 viewers aged 2 years and over. Both the 9 & 10pm hours had 18-49 demo ratings of 0.80. Read more

Fashion Queens Logo Square

Updated Tuesday, April 15th 2014, after S02E20 aired in prime time at Midnight on Sunday April 13th 2014. Bookmark this page and check back for regular updates.

Due to Watch What Happens Live airing at 9pm and then repeating at 11.30pm Sunday night, Fashion Queens was bumped to the later than normal Midnight time slot. Given the late hour and the fact that it followed a repeat airing of WWHL, it was no surprise this episode brought in lower than average ratings. While the 876,000 viewers who tuned in (18-49 Demo 0.30) is lower than normal, given its time slot – its still a pretty spectacular number for a show as cheap to produce as this.

Despite this decline, their second season average continues to outstrip that of their freshman season and is averaging 1,131,286 viewers (18-49 demo 0.46) per episode. That represents season-on-season ratings growth of 20.79% overall and 19.73% in the 18-49 demographic when compared with their freshman season which ran for just 11 episodes between March & June 2013.

Full Season Summary

After an incredibly successful freshman season between March and June 2013 it was no surprise that Bravo Media commissioned a second season of Fashion Queens to air this fall.
