For the last 16 weeks, Monday nights have been the sole night each week where Bravo has aired two hours of original reality programming; RHoNY at 9/8c and first Miss Advised and then Gallery Girls at 10pm. Last night saw the season finales of both RHoNY & Gallery Girls, and this was the last chance for a regular season episode of RHoNY to break the 2m viewer mark, something that had alluded it throughout its prior 17 episodes of this season. Earlier today we tweeted musing whether the grab on Ramona Singer’s arm by the self-styled sexually aggressive old guy (Aviva Drescher’s father), would be sufficient to finally push RHoNY above 2m viewers for an episode this season. The 17th episode of this season’s RHONY not only didn’t exceed 2m viewers, but in fact dropped 289,000 viewers from last week’s season high, scoring an audience of just 1,700,000 people. Despite that 15% drop in total audience, the 18-49 demo held at 0.80 to mirror its demo percentage of the last four episodes. Interestingly enough these ratings represent exactly 50% of the audience of the previous night’s RHoNJ finale, which had 3,407,000 viewers and scored 1.60 in the 18-49 demo. Read more

Last night the RHoNY ‘wives may have physically returned from St Barths but emotionally they were very much still there as the fallout from the trip continued back in NYC. After three episodes spent in the Caribbean, none of which gained the magic audience total of 2m, it was unlikely that their return would reach that high, and so it proved, but only just as 1,989,000 tuned in for the 16th regular episode of this 5th season. This episode was the fourth consecutive week where RHoNy scored a 0.80 in the 18-49 demo. That total audience figure is a new season high but still short of the magical 2m mark. Read more

So last night was the finale on the RHoNY sojourn in St Barths, and disappointingly again it failed to attract an audience of over 2m viewers. Just 1,801,000 viewers tuned in (0.80 in 18-49 demo), which was a 6.6% drop on last week’s episode and was the lowest rated of the three episodes set in St Barths. To give these ratings some perspective the last TWO episodes of RHoNJ have had a combined audience of 6.07m and the THREE St Barth’s RHoNY episodes didn’t even match that with their combined audience of 5.552m. In our projections we’d hoped that RHoNY would finally break 2m, but gave a range of between 1.9-2.1m and it didn’t even make that, which is both surprising and disappointing. Read more

So, despite keeping RHoNY airing on a holiday weekend (RHoNJ was given the week off lest its ratings were hurt too much), episode 14 and the 2nd set in Saint Barthélemy, grew a respectable 105,000 (6%) over the previous week’s episode. With 1,928,000 viewers tuning in this week, a new season high has been set. It’s unfortunate that the heavily trailered “White Trash” line couldn’t have helped RHoNY break 2m for the first time this season, but I have it on good authority that Bravo Execs let out a huge sigh of relief late this afternoon when they got the ratings. The only other slight downer is that this episode wasn’t able to increase on last week’s 18-49 demo percentage of 0.80. To put these St Barths episodes in perspective the three Moroccan episodes scored 18-49 demo ratings of 1.10, 1.10 & 1.00 and the Scary Island/St John episodes from the third season scored; 1.10, 1.20 and 1.30, respectively.
